PAKTYA - At least 24 midwives will be deployed in remote areas of Paktya province to provide basic health services to people living in places where government services are barely available.
KANDAHAR - The head of secretariat of the High Peace Council and Advisor Minister, Mohammad Stanikzai, along with a high-ranking delegation visited Kandahar province where they met with the Kandahar Governor and other officials to discuss progress in the peace process.

Her first aim is to change Faizabad district to be a safer district in Jawzjan province.
KABUL - UNAMA condemns in the strongest terms the multiple attacks yesterday in Quetta (Baluchistan) and the Swat Valley that have reportedly killed at least 125 people and injured 150 more.
JALALABD - Journalists from Jalalabad in eastern Afghanistan said that they have gained benefits out of three-day journalism training held by Strategic Communication and Spokespersons Unit of UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA). It concluded on 9 January 2013.
