BADGHIS: Locals get access to potable water

HERAT - Under National Solidarity Programme (NSP), 302 projects of constructing drinking water reservoirs have been completed in Moghr District of Badghis Province.

Around 26,000 local people now have access to clean drinking water through these reservoirs in the district.

The head of the Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department, Syed Rassoul Akbari, has said that the project was completed at a cost of US$ 3 million provided by the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development.

According to provincial officials, most of Badghis residents earlier had no access to clean water resulting in diseases among the local population such as tuberculosis and gastric ulcer.
