FARAH: Custom Revenue up by 52 per cent

FARAH - The revenue of Farah Customs Department reached Afs. 991 million (approx. US$18 million) over the past five months, showing a 52 per cent increase over the same period last year.

The Provincial Customs Director, Sayed Mozhal Shah Sadat, has said that the reasons behind the increased revenue were “enhanced customs services and fight against corruption.”

“Most of the revenue was raised from taxes on goods imports from the neighbouring country, Iran,” said Mr. Sadat.

The Farah Customs Department is located in the border with Iran and plays “an effective role to government’s revenue.”
