  • 18 Apr 2015 - KABUL - The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) condemns the suicide attack that took place this morning near a branch of Kabul Bank in Jalalabad, Nangarhar province, and killed at least 35 Afghans and injured more than 100, including civilians. 
  • 12 Apr 2015 - KABUL - Latest figures from the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) show a continuing trend of record high civilian casualties, with deaths and injuries from ground engagements in Afghanistan remaining the leading cause. Today, with the release of UNAMA’s findings from the first quarter of 2015, UNAMA calls on all parties to the conflict to recognize and act to prevent harm to civilians.
  • 10 Apr 2015 - KABUL - The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) condemns the killing of at least 18 civilians over the last 24 hours in three separate incidents, including Thursday’s armed attack on the Prosecutor’s Office in the northern city of Mazar-e-Sharif, as well as two incidents Friday involving a suicide bomber in Jalalabad city and a road-side bomb explosion in Ghazni province.
  • 02 Apr 2015 - KABUL - The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) condemns in the strongest terms today’s suicide attack in Khost Matun city, Khost province.
  • 20 Mar 2015 - KABUL - The United Nations condemns, in the strongest terms, the brutal killing and burning of a 27 year old mentally ill woman. On 19 March, an angry crowd beat a 27 year old woman to death and then burned her body. The incident took place near the Shah-e-Do Shamshera mosque in Kabul after the victim was accused of burning a copy of the holy Quran.
