  • 06 Dec 2015 - KABUL - The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) condemns the recent killing of nine civilians when explosive ordinance was fired into the village of Shahi Khil in Wardak. Initial information indicates that the casualties resulted from the impact of a shell fired by the Afghan National Army. Four boys were among the nine killed in the 4 December incident and at least three other persons were injured near a mosque in the village.

  • 11 Nov 2015 - KABUL - The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) condemns the murder by anti-Government elements of seven civilians, including two women, one girl and two boys, in the southern province of Zabul.  The seven civilians were abducted last month and executed between 6 and 8 November in Arghandab district while armed clashes were reported there between two rival groups of anti-Government elements. 
  • 26 Oct 2015 - KABUL - The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) condemns the intentional killing of two human rights workers today in Jalalabad. The two killed were employees of the respected Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC). Six other AIHRC staff were injured when a remote-controlled improvised explosive device detonated against an AIHRC minibus.
