ZABUL: Water Plant Established

ZABUL -  According to local officials, a clean drinking water plant has established in Qalat, capital of Zabul province.  The water purifying plant will provide clean drinking water to thousands of families in Qalat. The plant has been installed with the help of United States Development Programme and has the capacity to filter 30,000 galons of water, or 120,000 liters, each day. 

“We will be able to increase the income for Zabul Municipality with the installation of the new plant by selling the clean drinking water. Moreover, we are planning to establish a bottle factory as well in order to sell the water in bottles”, said Mr Sayed Ahmad Safi, Mayor of Zabul.

Until recently residents of Zabul were faced with a shortage of clean drinking water. It is hoped the new plant will help solve theese problems.
