URUZGAN: Residents of Khas Uruzgan district demand more services

URUZGN - During the Uruzgan Governor’s visit to Khas Uruzgan, the Sia Baghal residents of the district expressed their support to the government but demanded more development projects in the area.

“We fully support the government and guarantee security. However, we want health facilities, clean drinking water, schools and roads because all these sectors are currently paralyzed,” said a participant of the meeting held on Saturday.

Uruzgan Governor, Mr. Amir Mohammad Akhunzada in his remarks said that he would try to solve the problems of the local residents in the area.

“Currently, our focus is to those districts where there has been little development progress. I assure you that we will construct the 20 kilometres of road in the mentioned area in order to facilitate people’s movement,” Governor Akhunzada told the gathering.

The visit was the first such high-level visit to the district by any official since the last 11 years. Around 2,000 ulema (religious scholars), elders, youth and women attended the meeting.
