UN family in Afghanistan celebrates Afghans making a difference

KABUL - The United Nations family in Afghanistan is marking UN Day by highlighting the work of some of the outstanding Afghan professionals it has assisted or worked with in recent years.

These professionals, together with many other empowered Afghans, are leaders in fields of critical importance to the building of a stable, peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan. In the coming days, they will be featured in national television and radio broadcasts, and will appear at various events acrosss Afghanistan.

The UN family in Afghanistan is marking the 70th anniversary of the world body under the headline ‘Strong UN - Strong Afghanistan’ with events and activities beginning today, UN Day, and running through the end of November 2015.
