19 September 2009 - The latest weekly programme produced in Dari and Pashto by UNAMA Radio is now online to listen to. The show - "Afghanistan Today" - is broadcast every Saturday morning on Radio Afghanistan. This week's programme features items on Peace Day.

Ban welcomes proposal for international conference on Afghanistan

17 September 2009 - Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has welcomed a joint proposal to hold a United Nations-led international conference on Afghanistan as he expressed concern about the country’s ongoing instability and insecurity despite large-scale assistance since the fall of the Taliban in 2001.

Peace Day Calligraphy: The final nine pieces of art

18 September 2009 - With just three days until Peace Day, UNAMA has today released the last nine pieces of specially commissioned Peace Calligraphy from students at Kabul's Fine Arts Faculty. This is the first time such artwork has been produced.
