KHOST: Residents complain of delays at Appeal's Court

KHOST - People in Khost province are displeased about the activities of the Appeal's Court, saying every day there are long line of clients in front of the court and their cases are delayed without reasonable logics.

"Without any positive proof, my brother has been imprisoned. The case is with the Appeal's Court, no due attention is paid to my brother’s case. I passed a sunny day here. No one listen to me. The poor behavior and indifference of the legal and judicial departments disappointed me. One day I will turn away from the government," a client Abdul Wali from Lakan area of Khost city said.

"They compel us to resolve our disputes through Taliban judicial system. People from well-to-do families involved in criminal cases including murder, kidnapping and hijacking are set freed in exchange of money," another client, Mohammad Burhan, said.

Despite the residents' persistent complaints, neither the provincial nor the central government has taken any effective measure to address the issue.
