HELMAND: Six polio cases detected

KABUL - The representative of World Health Organization in Helmand, Doctor Mohammad Omar Wardak, said that six polio cases have been detected in Helmand province in the first half of this year.

Three of these cases are in Nahr-e-Saraj district, two in Nadali and one case in Khanashin district.

These polio cases are reported in those areas where the anti-polio campaign officials have faced problems during the implementation of the campaign.

"It is predicted that the number of polio cases may increase as we reach to the end of the current year”, Wardak cautioned.
