GHAZNI - Officials in the Ministry of Information and Culture Affairs say they are continuing their efforts to repair the historical monuments of Ghazni before 2013, as the city has been named the capital of Islamic civilization, for next year.

“There was a plan to repair at least 32 historical monuments until 2013. The experts of repairing the monuments have repaired 10 historical monuments so far and work the other monuments is already underway,” said Abdul Had Abasi, the head of the monuments preserving and repairing.

In order to keep the originality of monuments and architecture, the same materials used to make the original monuments have been used to repair it, Abasi added.
