PAKTYA - Five members of a public uprising group were killed by Taliban militants in the Ander district of Ghazni province, an official said on Wednesday.

In the heavy clashes that took place between the Taliban militants and local residents in Badvan area of Ander district, five members of the anti-militant group were killed after rebels attacked a house but rebels did not suffer any casualties in the clash, the provincial governor's spokesman, Sabawon, said.

A member of the group, Nek Mohammad, confirmed the death of five of his comrades during the clash with the Taliban. The number of people joining the public uprising has reached 400 and support is still growing.
