Access to information about migration issues for Aghans critical, new UN bulletin indicates

KABUL - Taking a close look at the motivations for migration, particularly for internally displaced people and returning refugees, a new edition of the Population Movement Bulletin issued by the UN in Afghanistan focuses on the critical need for Afghans to have current information about migration issues.

In addition to providing an overview and analysis of regional migration figures, the Bulletin details how the quickly changing political climate in destination countries has had a profound impact on the migration decisions among Afghans, and describes a large-scale effort to provide current information to potential migrants so they can make more informed decisions.

In the latest edition, read how the International Organization for Migration is working closely with several governments and international donors to implement a communications methodology to disseminate migration information though mosques, schools and villages elders, and through those who have attempted to migrate to Europe.
