UNAMA condemns recent attacks in Paktya and Ghazni

KABUL - The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) condemns the recent Taliban attacks in Paktya and Ghazni that claimed the lives of more than 60 people, many civilians, and injured at least 200.

The Mission demands the immediate end to the use of massive, indiscriminate explosive devices in areas regularly peopled by civilians.

UNAMA urges the Taliban and all parties to the conflict to strictly adhere to their obligations under international humanitarian law to take all feasible measures to protect civilians from harm, including refraining from the use of explosive weapons near government buildings providing services to the public.
