SAR-I-PUL - The Ministry of Education and the National Solidarty Programme (NSP) are jointly constructing 225 new school buildings in Sar-i-Pul Province at the cost of 500 million Afghanis (US$9.3 million).

In his comments to the media, the head of the Provincial Education Department, Ghafoor Saripuli, said that as of spring of this year, construction of five school buildings has already been completed, inaugurated and the foundation stones of 220 have also been laid.

Officials claim that with completion of this project no school would be left without building in the province.

It is worth mentioning that NSP is paying for the cost of 200 schools while the Education Ministry will finance the remaining 25.

Sixty of these schools are being built in Balkhab, Gosfandi, and Sancharak districts and 145 in the provincial capital and three other districts.
