1. Paragraph 22
The second sentence of the paragraph should read On 23 June 2003, two Afghan soldiers accompanying the coalition were wounded in a clash with the forces of Amanullah Khan.

 

The fourth sentence of the paragraph should read
The attempted assassination early in June of Aziz Ludin, rumoured to have been selected by the Government as Governor of Herat, was of particular concern.

2. Paragraph 24, line 12
The sixth sentence of the paragraph should read Early in May, 60 districts out of 165 in the south and south-east were considered high- to medium-risk areas.
