December 2000, in which the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to report every four months during
its fifty-fifth session on the progress of the United Nations Special Mission to Afghanistan (UNSMA). The present report, which covers developments since the issuance of my annual report on 20 November 2000 (A/55/633-S/2000/1106), is also submitted in response to requests by the Security Council for regular information on the main developments in Afghanistan.
