14 November 1997 - The present report is submitted pursuant to General Assembly resolution 51/195 B of 17 December 1996, in which the Assembly requested the Secretary- General to report to it at its fifty-second session on the progress made in the implementation of that resolution. In the same resolution, the Assembly had also requested the Secretary-General to report to it every three months on the progress of the United Nations Special Mission to Afghanistan (UNSMA).
