NEW YORK - The Secretary-General strongly condemns the despicable attack today on the Imam Baragah mosque in Kandahar City, Afghanistan.
The Secretary-General condemns in the strongest terms today’s horrific attack at a mosque in Kunduz, northern Afghanistan. This is the third attack against a religious institution in less than a week.
UN agencies and humanitarian NGOs in Afghanistan are in a race against time to deliver life-saving aid to crisis-affected people and preposition supplies ahead of winter.
The Security Council met today, 17 September, in New York and voted unanimously to pass resolution S/RES/2596 (2021) renewing UNAMA’s mandate for six months until 17 March 2022.
