KABUL - In 2009 UNAMA launched its own radio programme with Radio Television Afghanistan. More than 100 radio programmes and reports in English, Dari and Pashto have been published on the UNAMA Radio iTunes page.

KABUL - July was election-preparation month for Afghanistan, with UN envoy Kai Eide calling for a stop to the interference by officials in the electoral process, and urging Afghans to participate in the upcoming 20 August elections.

KABUL - Campaigning for the presidential and provincial polls kicked off on 16 June 2009, with 41 presidential hopefuls and over 3,000 provincial candidates competing for the 20 August elections.
