Throughout the holy month of Ramazan the people of Afghanistan have been fasting illustrating their commitment to shared religious and cultural values, respecting this time for reflection, patience and tolerance.

We are delighted to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with the people of Afghanistan. This is a time of personal, family and social renewal as everyone gathers to prey, and greet each other during these festive days.
I hope that the spirit of peace and harmony at the heart of these religious days will also strengthen the national effort to find peace in Afghanistan.
