  • 08 Feb 2017 - KABUL - The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) condemns Tuesday’s suicide attack in Kabul which killed at least 20 civilians and injured more than 40 others. Many of those killed and wounded were women, most of them female Supreme Court employees.

  • 27 Jan 2017 - KABUL - The United Nations remains firmly committed to Afghanistan and its people, said Miroslav Jenča, Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs, following a four-day visit to Afghanistan that concluded Friday. Mr Jenča met with President Ashraf Ghani, Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah, Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani, the recently appointed electoral commissioners, government officials, women leaders, and the diplomatic community.

Mr. Ishchi reports he was illegally detained and severely maltreated by security officials acting under the authority of the First Vice President, Abdul Rashid Dostum.
