  • 23 Jan 2013 - KABUL - A US$ 250 million grant, to finance the ongoing third phase of the National Solidarity Program (NSP III) of the Government of Afghanistan, was signed today between the Ministry of Finance and the World Bank. The Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund (ARTF) Grant aims at building, strengthening, and maintaining Community Development Councils (CDCs) as effective institutions for local governance and social-economic development.

  • 11 Jan 2013 - KABUL - UNAMA condemns in the strongest terms the multiple attacks yesterday in Quetta (Baluchistan) and the Swat Valley that have reportedly killed at least 125 people and injured 150 more. The UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Afghanistan, Ján Kubiš, believes indiscriminate acts of violence and terrorism against civilians are totally unacceptable irrespective of where they occur. These heinous acts cannot be justified by any cause.
  • 11 Dec 2012 - KABUL - Afghan authorities have achieved progress in implementing the Law on Elimination of Violence against Women to bring perpetrators of violence against women to justice said the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) in a report released today. Application of the landmark law, however, continued to be hampered by dramatic under reporting and lack of investigations into most incidents of violence against women.

This dialogue is non-official (Track II) and intended to provide members of the Afghan Nation with the opportunity to informally present and discuss their future visions of Afghanistan.
