58 year old turns up at 5:45 am

20 August 2009 - 07:31 am: The Education Faculty in Jalalabad saw 58 year old Muhammad Yusef turn up at 5:45 am to vote. He said he had never voted before. 200 people showed up in the first half hour

Voting has started in Kunduz. UNAMA’s Shamshudin Hamedi reports that the Kunduz Shirkhan High School was the first station to open with the governor of Kunduz and security officials attending. The governor was the first to vote. More than 50 voters are waiting to vote and more than 25 observers from the political parties and other agents are in attendance. There are 12 voting booths, eight male and four female. Local media attended. IEC reported 195 polling centres are open in Kunduz and more than 5,000 staff are working.
