KABUL -Nowruz is a special occasion for Afghans. It is a time for renewal and celebration, promoting values of peace and solidarity between generations and communities. It contributes to cultural diversity and friendship among people.“On the eve of this cherished occasion – the day of the spring equinox – we express hope that the year brings prosperity and harmony to the Afghan people, who, after years of conflict, deserve a future filled with optimism and hope,” said Nicholas Haysom, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).
UNAMA, he said, will remain steadfast in its commitment to supporting the Afghan people.
