Art and photography exhibition showcases works by Afghan women
KABUL – An art and photography exhibition featuring works by Afghan women was displayed at Kabul’s National Art Gallery, celebrating their contributions to society.
Titled The Power of Creation, a specially curated part of the exhibition ran at the National Art Gallery from February 24 to March 2 and was later showcased, in its full version, on March 6 at the UN Compound in Kabul.
The paintings on display included works from female students from the public arts school Honaristan, private academy United Stars and artists from several art galleries in Kabul.
The photography collection featured pictures of women in various professions, including engineering, medicine, entrepreneurship, and the arts.
Each set of photographs included two images—one depicting women and the other without them—emphasizing the striking void left by their exclusion from public life.
