KABUL - Nowruz is a special occasion for Afghans. It is a time for renewal and celebration, promoting values of peace and solidarity between generations and communities. It contributes to cultural diversity and friendship among people.

“On the eve of this cherished occasion – the day of the spring equinox – we express hope that the year brings prosperity and harmony to the Afghan people, who, after years of conflict, deserve a future filled with optimism and hope,” said Nicholas Haysom, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).
 
UNAMA, he said, will remain steadfast in its commitment to supporting the Afghan people.
