KABUL - As the holy month of Ramadan comes to a close and Afghans prepare to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) extends its greetings to all Afghans.

Sadly, the observance of Ramadan has been marked by violence. Going forward, UNAMA hopes that Eid-ul-Fitr – a time when Afghans celebrate in spirit of goodwill and compassion – will be free from suffering and violence, allowing families and friends to gather in peace and harmony to mark this special occasion.

The UN Mission wishes all Afghans “Eid Mubarak.”
