PAKTYA - The Da Afghanistna Breshna Sherkat (DABS) inaugurated five megawatts thermal power project in Ghazni province. The total cost of project is 150 million Afghanis.

Since Ghazni will be a host for the upcoming 2013 festival and will be attended by hundreds of Afghan and foreign guests, the provincial officials had expressed their concerns about lack of sufficient and standard electricity.

“One of the main purposes of this project was to meet the requirements of the province for the 2013 festival”, DABS chief Abdul Razique Samadi said.

According to Mr Samadi, this project involves 30 transformers throughout the Ghazni city that will benefit 5,000 families in addition to the Islamic Cultural Center. The project will be completed in next four months.

The government is trying to transfer imported powers from the North to southern provinces, where Ghazni is a priority.
