PAKTYA: Civil society discusses post-2014 challenges

PAKTYA - In a one day workshop in Khost province attended by community elders, clerics, civil society members, political party agents, reporters and head of the sectorial working groups, participants pointed out post-2014 challenges and solutions.

The participants concluded that properly equipping Afghan security forces, preventing administrative corruption, equality and paying considerable attention to agriculture sector and people needs can resolve post-2014 concerns and challenges.

Apart from this, the participants insisted on fair and transparent presidential elections that could have a positive impact on the development and stability of the country.

They urged the government to expedite the electronic identity cards distribution process and public outreach programmes, and asked to bring reforms into the Independent Election Commission (IEC) because its present form cannot ensure fraud-free elections.
