BAGHLAN: New private TV station starts test broadcast

BAGHLAN - A new private television network, Tanweer, has been established in Pul-i-Khumri, the capital of Baghlan province. This local television station began its test broadcast on 3 December and is the first such station in Baghlan province.

Its output comprises 40 per cent in-house productions, 30 per cent music, 20 per cent films and 10 per cent documentary programmes and advertisements.

This network has been established by the personal capital of Obaidullah Jahesh, a young journalist who also runs Sana Radio station.

The Tanweer Television covers the provincial capital, Pul-i-Khumri, and its neighbouring districts – Nahrin, Baghlan-i-Jadded and Dehana-i-Ghori

According to Mr. Jahesh, the television station, which broadcasts between 7am and 10pm, will have programmes on news, entertainment, culture, politics and education. Tanweer TV is accessible on channel 22 UHF (Ultra High Frequency).
