PAKTYA - The Ministry of Agriculture began distributing wheat to vulnerable families in Gardez. According to Khuram Din Mayar, the financial and and administrative director for the governor’s office, said that nearly 3500 tons of wheat was assisted by Ministry of Agriculture to Paktay province, distribution process has been started on population basis to each district, and today we will distribute almost 28 tons to the most vulnerable families in Gardz.

Habib Gul, a resident of Gardez who received some of the wheat, said the assistance would help and he thanked the government for its support and asked for more assistance.

"We are facing economic problems, we are jobless and food items prices have risen in market, we request our national traders to help our destitute people," he said.

Reportedly some 60 tons of wheat to Zurmat district has gone missing and district agriculture officials have been arrested and are being interrogated.
