UNAMA provides assistance to Kunduz law students

10 July 2011 – A new library for the library of Law Faculty of Kunduz University was officially inaugurated at a ceremony attended on Saturday. In attendance were Kunduz University professors and staff from UNAMA and GIZ, the NGO.

 

“We are pleased and thankful to UNAMA and GIZ for their support to our students , for establishing this library. This is not their first collaboration with the law faculty and we appreciate this long-term engagement,” said Mr. Mohammad Yusuf Azizi, the deputy dean of Kunduz University.

According to Azizi, Kunduz University, which was established in the 1970s, has about 2000 students studying at faculties of law, agriculture, education and economy.

“ It is first step of our collaboration to Kudnuz university and we try our best to cooperate this university, especially law faculty in the area of interest and need,” said GIZ-Rule of Law Deputy Director Dr. Joachim Spross.

 

“Having library at the university is as important as a laboratory for the scientific and we hope students get benefits from the books we have provided,” said Dr. Hassan Rezaei, the Rule of Law officer for UNAMA.

Previously, in 2010, UNAMA’s Rule of Law unit, along withwith GIZ, facilitated a study tour for Kunduz law and Takhar Sharia Faculties’ professors to Tehran. They have also organized scientific conferences for the students of Kunduz.
