KABUL - A UNAMA helicopter was involved in an emergency landing due to technical problems in the afternoon of 14 October 2012 near Yakawolang district in Bamyan province of the central highlands in Afghanistan. Download UNAMA press statement

All passengers on board are safe, some with minor injuries. They were all immediately evacuated from the area and taken to our office in Bamyan.

During the flight the helicopter developed mechanical problems and the crew was forced to make an emergency landing.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
