KABUL - Nowruz is a special occasion for Afghans. It is a time for renewal and celebration. It promotes values of peace and solidarity between generations and communities. It contributes to cultural diversity and friendship among peoples.

On the eve of this cherished occasion – the day of the spring equinox – the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) sends its best wishes for this impending new year and expresses the hope that the coming year brings prosperity and harmony to the Afghan people, who, after years of conflict, deserve a future filled with optimism and hope.
