KABUL - The UN Security Council will hold a special session on the situation on Afghanistan today at 10:00 in New York (18.30, Kabul local).
Media can follow the UN WebTV for the live webcast. The session will also be available as a viewable video clip on UN Web TV a few hours after the meeting.
Deborah Lyons, the Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, will brief the Council as part of the session, by videoconference from Kabul.
The session was called by India which holds the Presidency of the Council in August, at the request of Afghanistan.
