KABUL - Nowruz is a special occasion for Afghans. It is a time for renewal and celebration, promoting values of peace and solidarity between generations and communities. It contributes to cultural diversity and friendship among people.

“Ahead of this occasion, the UN family in Afghanistan expresses hope that the year ahead brings harmony to the Afghan people, who, after years of conflict, deserve a future free from conflict and filled with optimism,” said Nicholas Haysom, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).
 
The United Nations, he said, will remain steadfast in its commitment to supporting the Afghan people.
