KABUL - The United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Afghanistan and head of UNAMA, Ján Kubiš, met today with the two presidential candidates, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai.

He briefed them on the progress of the 14 June presidential run-off election audit based on information of the Independent Election Commission and the United Nations experts supervising the process. They also discussed other related issues. The meeting was attended by Ambassador of the United States to Afghanistan, James. B. Cunningham.
