PAKTYA: Youth with disabilities receive training

GHAZNI - Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) organized vocational training for tens of youth with disabilities in Ghazni province, according to local officials on Wednesday.

The project aimed to support youth with disabilities and reduce the risk of marginalization by enabling them to stand on their own feet and have a successful life, said Deputy Governor Mohammad Ali Ahmadi.

“Unemployment is the major problem of our people. These training is essential for our youths as it will bring about fruitful results and will eliminate common perceptions that people with disabilities are nonproductive individuals and push young people with disabilities themselves to prove their self-reliance,” Deputy Governor Ahmadi added.

SCA representative in Ghazni Amir Khan said the disables rehabilitation is the European Union funded project and execution of the same projects will be continuing in the province.

The project is implemented for nine months and after the completion of the training, the disabled youth will receive necessary equipment.
