PAKTIKA - The Governor of Paktika province, Mohibullah Samim, urged anti-government elements on Friday to join the ongoing national reconciliation programme and participate in the reconstruction of the country.

Governor Samim issued this call at a gathering in Yousaf Khail district of the province. In attendance were the provincial police chief, the head of the Provincial Peace Committee, Provincial Council members, tribal elders and civil society’s representatives.

The head of the provincial peace committee, Mohammad Ibrahim Afzali, also briefed participants on the importance of people’s role in the reconciliation process, according to Mukhlis Afghan, the spokesperson of the Governor.

The Governor asked people to do all they can to bring peace and support the Afghan security forces in security maintenance.
