NEW YORK - The Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Deborah Lyons, today briefed the Security Council on the situation in Afghanistan.

The Security Council met today, 17 September, in New York and voted unanimously to pass resolution S/RES/2596 (2021) renewing UNAMA’s mandate for six months until 17 March 2022.
