Live and on-demand webcast of UN Security Council briefing on situation in Afghanistan

KABUL - The UN Security Council has scheduled the next briefing to discuss the UN Secretary-General António Guterres' latest report on the situation in Afghanistan.

The meeting, scheduled to commence 15:00 New York local time (23:30 Kabul local time), 25 September, will be webcast live on UN WEB TV, and will be available as a downloadable video clip a few hours after the meeting. The start time of the session may change and audiences are advised to check schedule on UN WEB TV.

Tadamichi Yamamoto, the Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, will brief the 15-member Council as part of the session.

Upon completion of the session, a media stakeout is scheduled that is also normally webcast live at the same location on UN WEB TV. That stakeout is expected to be available as a downloadable video clip within a few hours of the live event.
