HELMAND: Security incidents increase in Lashkargah

HELMAND - The local residents of Lashkargah complained about the growing number of security incidents in the area.

The locals claimed that insurgents have shifted their target from the districts to Lashkargah, the capital of Helmand province, and have launched several target killings with the arrival of winter season.

Armed robberies, target killings, explosions and other armed encounters have increased in Lashkargah, according to the locals. If the situation doesn’t improve, they will stage a demonstration against Government.

Helmand Chief of Police, Abdul Nabi Ilham, confirms that security incidents have increased, however, the police have carried out measures to prevent such incidents.
