GHAZNI - Minister for Information and Culture, Dr Makhdoom Raheen, said last week that the designation of Ghazni City as the Centre of Islamic Culture and Civilization will be announced amidst a ceremony in the first week of January 2013.

While briefing the officials in Ghazni, the minister also gave a list of tasks completed so far and remaining activities for rehabilitation of Ghazni City.

In addition to the existing projects, the ministry intends to repair the tomb of Mujahid and great intellectual Mullah Mushki Aalam, Minister Raheen added.

According to the governor of Ghazni, of the 36 projects 10 of them have been completed and the work on another 12 is ongoing and the remaining projects are under the survey process.

The work on construction of an airport in Ghazni City will be completed with the cooperation of transport and civil aviation ministry and the governor’s office of Ghazni province.
