BAMYAN: Women’s role for peace and security discussed

BAMYAN - Civil Society and Human Rights Network (CSHRN) organized a one-day conference to highlight the role of women for peace in Afghanistan, yesterday. About 150 participants from Government authorities, civil society groups, women groups, non-governmental organizations, religious and community elders attended the conference held in Bamyan.

Ismail Zaki, the Head of CSHRN in Bamyan, told Radio Bamyan that the conference aimed at discussing the role of women for peace and security in the country. The outcome of discussions in Bamyan will be shared at a national conference to be held in capital Kabul.

Habiba Sarabi, the Governor of Bamyan, told radio Bamyan that women were already playing good role for peace in Bamyan, and there were a lot of talents among the Bamyan women to take the lead in this process.

Elena Drozdik from UNAMA told the conference that people of Bamyan had already demonstrated their awareness about women’s role for peace on many occasions.
