Migrant and refugee issue continues to attract world attention

KABUL -  With the movement of migrants and refugees continuing to dominate global headlines, a new edition of the Population Movement Bulletin issued by the UN in Afghanistan, provides updated information including the situation of returnees and displaced people within Afghanistan.

The fourth edition of the Population Movement Bulletin, published by the UN in Afghanistan, provides updates on trends in internal displacement, population movement to and from neighbouring countries and Europe.

This edition also covers the visit of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees who called for continued international support to find lasting solutions to Afghanistan’s complex and rapidly evolving displacement crisis, the human dimensions of which – specifically exposure of populations in transit to criminal exploitation – are discussed in the one of the articles.

In addition, this edition of the Bulletin highlights the findings of the UNHCR’s Global Trends report, emphasizing that more people than ever have been driven from their homes due to conflict and persecution, numbers quadrupling over the past 10 years, and rising by nearly 10 per cent in just the past year.
