NEW YORK - The United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Nicholas Haysom, briefed the Security Council today on the Secretary-General’s latest report regarding the situation in the country and the world body’s recent work there.

Mr. Haysom, who is also head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), will speak with the media as a guest at the Secretary-General’s Spokesperson’s Noon Press Briefing on Friday, 19 December.
